The thing about Victorian men is that to the unpracticed eye, they all look exactly alike. When I designed Dracula for a class project, this was one of the problems I had to solve.
The solution lay in the coats and the hats. Harker wore cutaways and genteel fedora-types; Van Helsing wore massive caped trenches and bowlers, and Dr. Seward, pictured here, favored the professional frock coat and top hats. |
